The Black Hat Dance, also known as Sha Nag Cham, is an elaborate Tibetan ritual ancient dance. The dancer's movements symbolize the joy and freedom of seeing reality in its true nature. Present day performances of the Black Hat Dance are intended to abolish obstacles and restore faith in the dharma. It is believed that those who observe the dance will be cleared of inner and outer obstacles.

Tibetan Shinay Meditation by Tulku Tsori Rinpoche

The illusory nature of the world traps us in a self made box of greed and attachment. Shinay Meditation provides a process to calm the mind allowng a deeper awareness of our true nature and purpose. In this special meditation, Tibetan Lama Tulku Tsori Rinpoche provides the basic practices to help us develop these skills through a better understanding of impermanence, compassion, karma and the sufferings of the cycles of rebirth.

You are invited to attend a precious exhibit of sacred relics of the Buddha and other great Buddhist masters. These crystal-like objects have been found post-cremation in the ashes of holy beings such as the historical Buddha, his disciples, lineage founders, and modern day lamas. The unique collection has been gathered by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, a student of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Spiritual Director of the Maitreya Project.
Throughout the event, blessing ceremonies, with the relics, will be held for visitors.
Pet blessing times to be announced.
The exhibition is free of charge. Persons of all spiritual traditions are welcome.

RENEW AND RELAX YOGA RETREAT

This 4 1/2 day retreat (Wednesday through Sunday) will focus on de-stressing, rejuvenation and restoring balance through relaxation and nature. Grass Roots Medicine: Integrating Ayurveda, Essential Oils and Yoga Therapy
November 12-19
Join David Crow and Ruth Hartung in Sedona for week long study of integrative medicine.
Drawing on his background of clinical medical practice of more than 20 years, David Crow will introduce Ayurveda and Essential oils as a foundation for a “sattvic health care system”. Each day will address one system of the body (i.e. respiratory system) from the point of view of therapeutic Yoga, Ayurveda, Essential oils with Marma points and a daily walk to harvest or prepare a local medicinal herb for that particular system. The week will highlight developing a personal ayurvedic/yoga self care programs for greater health and spiritual well-being. The course includes a daily Ayurvedic breakfast and lunch and written materials.

David Crow is one of the world’s foremost experts and leading speakers in the field of botanical medicine, natural health and ecological sustainability. He is a master herbalist, aromatherapist and acupuncturist with over 20 years experience and is an expert in the Ayurvedic and Chinese medical systems. He is author of IN Search of the Medicine Buddha and the founding director of Floracopeia.

Ruth Hartung, Director and Co-founder of 7 Centers Yoga Arts, has been teaching kundalini and hatha yoga for 19 years. She has been the course leader for 37 yoga teacher trainings since 2001 that include studies in Ayurveda and Vedic astrology within the context of an ashram model. 7 Centers has an Ayurvedic Kitchen with a new addition of a medicinal and culinary herb garden and will be offering a yoga therapy training in 2011.
